LIFT Scholarship

Applicants: The LIFT scholarship will be offered to students who are
graduating from high school and attending a 4-year or 2-year
college/university full-time in the fall semester immediately
following their graduation.

Award: First place is $3,000
Second place is $1,500.00
Third place is $1,000.00

Documentation: Before the scholarship will be awarded, the student must provide Lexington Urban League Young Professionals (LULYP) with a
class schedule that indicates they are enrolled as a full time
student.

Awards will be distributed on a semester basis. For instance, the
$3,000 will be split as $1,500 for first semester and $1,500 for the
second semester. Also, the awards will only be given per semester
not for summer school or prior to getting their proof of enrollment.
Advertisement: The LIFT scholarship will be advertised in the Lexington Herald-Leader and be disseminated to high school seniors by their
guidance office and Youth Service Center late November.

Distribution: Once the recipients have been selected and the documentation
mentioned above is received a check in the amount will be
awarded.
