1890 National Scholars Program

The USDA and the eighteen 1890 Historically Black Land Grant Institutions are offering the 1890 National Scholars Program. This program offers scholarships for students to attend one of the eighteen Historically Black Land Grant Institutions and study agriculture, food, natural resource and related disciplines. Criteria include: a U.S. Citizen, an entering freshman, have a high school diploma or GED, have a GPA of 3.0 or better, SAT of 1500 or better or ACT of 21 or better, and demonstrate leadership and community service. A list of the eighteen eligible schools and fields of study are available in the guidance office, along with additional information and an application.

The deadline to apply is February 1, 2012.
