W.H.O. Womens Bible Study

Topic: LOL: LIVING OUT LOUD and a contiunation of last week's topic, "MISREPRESENTATION OF THE TRUTH".

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE feel free to read thru before this THURSDAY, no there wont be a quiz, lol, however this is just another way for us to come together in excitement and on one accord anticipating how the revelatory power of Gods Word can be revealed thru EVERYONE'S heart, not just the one teaching.

The Women of Destiny present the "High Heels in High Places" Women's Conferences. The conference will convene June 3-4,2011 at New Day Community Church, 530 Martin Luther King Blvd. It will include nightly service, guest psalmist and panel discussion on hot topics.

FREE College Preparedness Seminar for African Americans

CPE seeks African-American juniors, seniors and parents for college preparedness conference

The Council on Postsecondary Education, in conjunction with the Kentucky Department of Education, will co-sponsor the 24th Annual Academically Proficient African-American High School Junior and Senior Conference on the campus of Morehead State University June 17-18.

Kentucky’s African-American juniors and seniors and their parents are encouraged to participate in the free conference. Registration closes June 8.

The conference will acquaint students with a wide range of college planning topics, including financial aid and scholarships, selecting a college and career, and developing skills for successful transition to college.

A college fair with campus representatives from across the state will follow the sessions.

Bike-In Movie

Join us for Bike Lexington's 3rd Annual Bike-In Movie featuring

QUICKSILVER (1986) - starring Kevin Bacon, Lawrence Fishburne and Jami Gertz.

Movie will be shown on a projection screen under the pavilion at Cheapside Park. Movie will begin shortly after the conclusion of Thursday Night Live, and is free and open to the public. Drinks and food will continue to be served throughout the movie.

Plot synopsis:

Jack Casey (Kevin Bacon) used to be a hot-shot stock market whiz kid. After a disastrous professional decision, his life in the fast lane is over. He loses his nerve and joins a San Francisco bike messenger service in order to lead a carefree life of little responsibility. He becomes attracted to a fellow messenger, Terri, and befriends Hector, a budding entrepreneur. Things turn deadly when Jack discovers a drug dealer who is using bike messengers to push his drugs onto the streets, leading to a showdown where Jack is forced to regain his self-respect and stand up for what is right.

Features many bike / breakdancing scenes that are not to be missed!
