No health insurance? Affordable health care is closer than you think.
Doctors are now seeing patients at William Wells Brown Elementary School. For the past month, doctors have been seeing patients at the school from from 3 to 6 p.m. each Tuesday evening. With schools closed, the clinic is now seeing patients from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays.
The clinic accepts health insurance but also sees patients on a sliding scale determined by their income.
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO HAVE A CHILD WHO ATTENDS THE SCHOOL.
The extended hours at William Wells are a pilot project that may be expanded at that school and replicated at the other school clinics.
Additionally, several schools have school clinics - Tates Creek, Arlington and Harrison elementary schools - that offer extended service and can both diagnose and treat various illnesses or refer students for additional dental or healthcare.
