The Kentucky Office of Employment Training and the state Chamber of Commerce are joining together to offer a new credential for job seekers.
The National Career Readiness Certificate is based on three assessments that can be taken at more than 100 sites across the state.
The Education & Workforce Development Cabinet says businesses can give interview preference to applicants who have a certificate or require a certain level for employment.
The first certificate was presented Thursday to Emily Barron of Richmond, who is a student in Kentucky Adult Education's Madison County program.
