KING WEEKEND ACTIVITIES
Saturday, January 14th - REBUILDING THE BLOCK: ST Roach Community Conversations - Dr. King's Dream for Black Men, What's Next?. MLK Cultural Center scholar-in-residence, professor Arnold Farr and co-host professor Vershawn Young, African American Studies and English, will discuss the promise of black manhood in America by examining MLK's actions, philosophies, and speeches. At The Lyric Theatre, 11am-2pm.
Saturday, January 15th - The 7th Annual Coretta Scott King Spirit of Ivy Awards Luncheon, presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This event is designed to honor local women for their efforts to improve the Lexington community. For details, see the flyer below.

9:00-10:00 am - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Freedom March, Line -Up in the corridor of downtown Lexington Center, Heritage Hall
10:00 am - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Freedom March, Departure from downtown Lexington Center Heritage Hall on West Main Street.
11:00 am - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration, Commemorative Program - Lexington Center, Heritage Halls East and Center. The keynote speaker is Dr. Marc Lamont Hill; view his bio at www.marclamonthill.com.
2:00 pm - Screening of Freedom Riders at the Kentucky Theater - Free to the public.
